After researching, i have found that the two most appealing careers are a career in Human Genetics. The average/projected salary for a human genetisist is approximately 95,000 dollars a year. This average pay rate definately intrests me. Also the describtion of the job of working with Human D.N.A has always interested me. The average amount of schooling needed for this career field is four semester's and one summer session. THis is with thirty credit hours per semester. Another career that i would choose is phisiology. I would work in the phisiology field because my mom studied anatomy and phisiology and also because the human body is a fine instrument that should be used properly. This has an average salary of 22,000 to 30,000 dollars per year. It requires an average of 269 college hours of study.
These two careers of Phisiology and Human Genetics are the two careers i would follow through with a degree in Biology.

Ok first off, physiology caught my attention the most. It is the study of the bodies functions and makeup. In this field it seems like it will be a long lasting career. We will always need people to study the body and it reaction to different conditions. This study can help us see how the body reacts to space travel and deep sea travel. Both of those types of travels are becoming and remaining big now-a-days. This job pays an average salary of 22,000 to 30,000 dollars per year, and it requires 269 college hours to become a physiologist. It sound captivating and I know when I join this field I will be saving lives everyday and finding new ways to help heal the body and make the body work for you!!!
The next profession that I was interested in was a genetics laboratory technician. They study human DNA in things like forensics and tracing peoples' DNA back decades and centuries. This job usually takes 4 years to get. The job pays an average of $18000-$36000 a year. It seems like it would be fun to study peoples genes and trace them or find out who killed someone at a crime scene.

It was hard to find info on the sites i visited, but anyway, i found that physiology and oceanography interested me the most out of all of the jobs. i love the ocean and i think the human body is interesting so that is why i gravitated towards those jobs. for physiology, one has to get a bachelor degree in college and the salary was $22-30,000 per year! thats alot! oceanography also requires a bachelor degree and the salary varies depending on the types of jobs that you would be doing.

The best jobs in biological sciences require a Ph.D. Salaries can start at $33,000 and as biologists gain years of experience and educationk, some are able to recieve as much as $103,000. My motivation for choosing this career is the fact that I will be studying life and finding solutions to make it better. Another interesting career was one in genetics. In order to be active in research and development, it will require a Ph.D or M.D. Geneticists can earn over $90,000. My motivation is the fact that I will be working with DNA and solving its puzzles... and I like puzzles!

I never really thought of genetics as especially fun, but now that you've mentioned it, it sounds pretty cool

The two careers that interested me were zookeeping and behavioral biology. Zookeeping is exactly what it sounds like but still requires at least bachelors degree. Zookeepers make about 40,000 dollars a year. I think it would be fun to study and take care of exotic animals. The next career that interested me was behavioral biology. This is a career that focuses on certain traits of specimens related to instincts or reasons of why they do things. This career takes at least a masters to start or a PHD to be really good. This is interesting because it would be cool to figure out why certain species do things.

Projected salary: around $32,000
Reasoning/motivation for invesitgating this career: I feel that this career is something I could really be interested in, it is also something that I am already starting to learn and you are learning the way of the body and teaching it to others and helping them with their body.

Number of years of education required: 2 years of specialized training or an associate degree, or a bachelors, practice with up-to-date equipment is required
Projected salary: starting at $51,000
Reasoning/motivation for invesitgating this career: I feel that this is a great career, I love what they do and how they help solve crimes, I hope it is like the show. (lol)

zookeeping sounds like fun, working with animals all day lol one thing i would absolutely hate is working with snakes eww they make my skin crawl.

genticists is cool, i saw some things they do thats sound like something alot of people who love biology should do, i would try it out lol

I've decided to choose a career in oceanography, Biological Oceanographer. A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for beginning positions, but of course a doctoral degree is required for teaching in college. Salaries range from $36,790-$86,620. I found an interest in this job because I've always been interested in marine life. As a child I had a 55 gallon salt water fish tank with many kinds of fish from the oceans all over the world. My eyes stayed glued to the tank. Its always been an excitement for me.

The second career I chose was in forensic science, Forensic Scientist. A four-year degree in physics, biology, microbiology, chemistry, medical technology, or genetics, is required in order to obtain an entry-level job in forensic science and experience in a laboratory is sometimes required too. With experience, forensic scientists may eventually earn annual salaries between $35,000 and $50,000. I've been interested in criminal justice since I was a child too. My mom has always watched CSI and Forensic Files and even now I watch First 48. Crime and its investigations are intense, yet very interesting to me.

Botany is intersting to me because i have always wanted to understand how plants evolved and what makes them different from animals. I've always wanted to learn how plants "work". Botanist can make from $33,000-$142,000 a year. The ones who make over 100,000 are highly specialized and have loads of experience and Ph.D degrees. It would take about 6-8 years in college to get a Ph.D in botany and in marine biology, but both subjects sound really intersting to me.

Out of my investigation of careers in the field of biology I have found that Botany is a very interesting subject. a Botanist studies plant life. This is a very wide range of different specialist and scientific careers. To be a botanist you should take college prep classes in all of your course work, have extra curricular activites and be informed about the programs and courses you want to take in college. in college you should take get a broad general education in language, arts, humanities and the social sciences in addition to specializing in plant biology. most colleges will have you take a core botany course before you go on to specialized botany classes. the rate of pay for a botanist is a variety of amounts. The American Institute for Biological Science 2003 salary survey states that for people with less than one year of experience was estimated at $33,000 and for those with 30 years or more $108,000. The median for all positions without supervisory responsibilities was $48,000 and for those supervising 10 or more professional and sub professional employees, the median income was $126,500. I would want to become a botanist or have a career dealing with botany because plant can deal so many things. It can go from microbiology with bacteria and cells to discovering new plants and finding new medical advancements to help with diseases. It can deal with stopping pollution also. I think botanist help the world because they investigate what helps give us oxygen to breathe. The 2nd career choice I researched was Physiology. Physiiology is the study of life. It's the study of how genes, cells, tissues, and organisms function. The education required for this field is to begin with with an undergraduate major in science or liberal arts with a focus on science. Masters or Bachelor degrees usually have supervision from senior physiologists. To teach or have your own laboratory group usually needs a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree. For salary expectations a bachelors degree makes $30,000 for university and $50,000 for industry, masters degree would be $35,000 for university and $56,000 for industry, and industry senior scientists is $78,000. I would become a physiologist because it is about what us as humans are made up of. It is helpful to cure diseases of humans and animals and the ability to adapt to new environments. It can be new drug discoveries and treatments for pharmeceutical purposes. I like physiology because it can be a way to help the world by better understanding of the way life functions.

They usually have to receive a phd and their salaries range from places of employment. I chose to read about this career because I love animals and I find animal behavior interesting. The other career I read about was a clinical geneticist. They need to recieve an md and their responsibilities are to study genetics of people before they are born. I chose this career to read about because I have always been interested in how people bocome who they are

The first career that interested me was the field of microbiology. Of course you need a high school diploma, and schooling takes about 4 to 7 years to complete. The projected salary is about 97,000 a year. The second career that interested me was physiology. This field seems a little more challenging to finish. You need to have completed 6 to 8 years of school with experience and an internship. The projected salary is about 109,000 dollars a year.

A career in behavioral biology does sound interesting. I also think it would be fun to be able to know specifically why species act in a certain way.

I watch those shows too. Forensic scientists should definitely be proud of what they do because it does not seem easy. They have to find missing puzzle pieces in order to solve crimes. I agree that it is intense and it can be fun as well.

Reasoning- i chose oceanography because growing up and living near the ocean i always wanted to know more about the ocean and its marine life. i love the water so this job would be perfectly suited for me and i love animals.

Animal behaviorist sounds like good choice to me because i love animals and studying them and hanging out with all the diffrent kinds could really be great rewarding experience.

oceanography is my top pick too. i just love the ocean and the marine life and the animals that get to live in that amazing world.

i liked the marine biology too i would want to be a marine biologist because i would want to learn and help solve problems dealing with the ocean since it covers so much of the Earth.

haha, i hope it would be like the shows too. i bet it's wayyyyyy more boring than that though. but i liked physiology too. i think it would be a great way to learn more about the functioning of life and how connected everything is.

It kind of amazes me that not too many fields in biology make six figures. I had no idea the field of physiology paid six figures nor have I heard anyone who went into this field.

Who wouldve thought the field of biology pays so little. At least I know not to go in that field, as if I was going to anyway. lol Kind of makes you wonder.. Ms. Hancocks checks must be distorted.

I think oceanography would be a good career. It looks like it would never get boring with all of the exotic stuff in the ocean
